Over the past year Aquila Young established a local following captivating live audiences with an alluring presence and electric energy. She shared stages with the likes of Boo Seeka, MT Warning and Airling alongside boutique festival appearances including Bleach, GLOW and 2High. Her debut EP Distance Echoes was released in 2015 garnering a wave of reviews and airplay across Triple J and US college radio. FIKA’ is Swedish for coffee break and is how TH’FIKA came to be. Colliding the worlds of ambience, folk, electronic and rock TH’FIKA have a magnetic familiarity. Like a quirky painting at your grandparent’s house their music is welcoming yet intriguing.
Lily Budiasa and Michael Cameron began writing together in Japan, (Hakuba) over the winter season in 2013. This was when the project truly began in between playing 6 nights a week for 4 months and is where the name comes from.
With the addition of drummer Mitch Clark, the original folk roots transitioned to an Alternative/ Pop Rock sound. A pivotal moment when they wrote their debut single ‘Stranger’ embracing the new sounds of Synths, electric guitar, drums and electronic elements. Drawing influences from such artists as The XX, London Grammar, The Naked and Famous and The Temper Trap, TH’FIKA eagerly await their debut EP release in June 2016.

ELLAFENCE recorded four tracks of her debut EP Wanderlust at the renowned Brighton Electric Studios (UK), home to Mumford and Sons and The Cure, with producer Dan Swift (Snow Patrol, Passenger) and the fifth track with Ken Stringfellow (REM, The Posies) in Paris. This EP made the top 20 on New York’s Breakthru Radio and top 10 on 4ZZZ Brisbane, as well as being played on triple j (listened to worldwide) and multiple independent radio stations across the USA and Australia.
In June 2015 ELLAFENCE signed worldwide with Phil Pickett (Boy George and the Culture Club, Sailor) of Rugged Management (UK). She then returned to the UK in 2016 to produce new music and song write with Phil Pickett, Grammy Award Winner Terry Britten (Tina Turner, Cliff Richard, Olivia Newton-John, Michael Jackson), Nick Coler (Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Gabriella Cilmi) and David Lowe (TV and Radio composer, BBC).
